WordPress 03 – Installing and Activating Elementor

Login to Your WordPress Dashboard

  • Enter your website’s admin URL in your web browser (typically, http://yourdomain.com/wp-admin).
  • Log in with your admin username and password.

Navigate to the Plugins Section

In the WordPress dashboard, go to “Plugins” → “Add New”.

Search for Elementor

  • In the search bar on the top right, type “Elementor”.
  • The Elementor plugin should appear in the search results.

Install Elementor

Install Elementor:

    • Find the Elementor plugin and click the “Install Now” button next to it.
    • WordPress will download and install the plugin for you.

Activate Elementor:

    • After the installation is complete, click the “Activate” button to activate the Elementor plugin.

Accessing the Elementor Editor:

    • Once activated, you’ll notice a new “Elementor” option in your WordPress dashboard menu.

Create a New Page:

    • To start using Elementor, create a new page or edit an existing one. Go to “Pages” → “Add New” or choose an existing page to edit.

Access Elementor Editor:

    • In the page editor, you’ll see an “Edit with Elementor” button. Click on it.

Working with the Elementor Editor Adding Sections and Elements:

  • In the Elementor editor, you’ll see a sidebar on the left with a “Widgets” tab.
  • Drag and drop “Sections” to your page layout. Sections act as containers for your content.
  • Inside sections, you can add various “Elements” (widgets) such as text blocks, images, buttons, and more.

Editing and Styling Elements

  • Click on an element to open its editing options on the left sidebar.
  • You can customize the content, style, typography, and other settings of each element.
  • Experiment with the options to achieve your desired design.

Preview and Responsiveness

  • Use the preview button to see how your page looks on different devices (desktop, tablet, mobile).
  • Adjust settings to ensure a responsive design.

Undo/Redo and History

  • Elementor offers undo and redo buttons at the bottom of the editor.
  • You can also access the revision history to revert to previous versions of your design.

Saving and Publishing

  • Once you’re satisfied with your design, click the green checkmark button to save your changes.
  • You can then click the “Update” button to publish your changes to the live website.

Templates and Library

  • Elementor provides pre-designed templates that you can use as a starting point for your designs.
  • Explore the template library to find designs for different types of pages.

Remember, Elementor gives you a lot of flexibility and creative control over your website’s design without requiring coding skills. Experiment with different elements, styles, and layouts to bring your vision to life.
